My partner came across Hopper Haven and Little Foot Sanctuary when she was surfing the net. We’ve always had a particularly soft spot for guinea pigs, and were so impressed by what we read that we decided to visit the sanctuary when I was next in the Midlands touring my one-man show. After our first visit we agreed that the team at Hopper Haven were doing a marvellous job looking after the rabbits and guinea pigs who came into their care, and made their stay there as pleasant and “care specific” as possible. Indeed I was so impressed by the quality of the nursing that I immediately sponsored a sickly, almost totally fur-less guinea pig who I named Mighty. He was in a terrible state when I first met him, having been so savagely attacked by mites he would have died had it not been for the loving care and expertise of Louise, who runs the sanctuary. I’m proud to be a patron of Hopper Haven and urge you to spread the word about it to your friends and family. We continue to visit as often as possible, and have adopted two other guinea pigs from the sanctuary. They are called Mr. B and Lola, are full of life and personality and have bonded with our other guinea pigs very well. You’ll also be pleased to know that Mighty is now back in full health, and has a new owner and two new guinea pig girlfriends. But of course all the animals at Hopper Haven deserve a good home, and with your help they will find one. You can look at the “How You Can Help” section of the website for ideas about how you can get involved and assist the work of this extremely worthwhile charity. Tony Robinson 20/02/08 |
